1 dimensional (1D) nanoparticle chains composed of Fe3O4-N doped carbon composites are synthesized through a biological route using bacteria. The process is facile, green and carried out at ambient conditions. The as-obtained chains with unique architecture show good cyclability and high-rate lithium storage capability as electrodes for LIBs.
